Wild Flowers

2019- MDF, acrylic, light, water, cctv video, wildflowers

Wild Flowers is an installation made from two sculptural parts. The first is a large plinth that is topped with an opaque black vitrine which contains a full environmental support system and hundreds of growing wildflowers. The flowers are growing, fed, and watered completely autonomously and without a way to be viewed. The second part mirrors the first, instead of the vitrine top it has two CCTV monitors displaying the feeds from cameras embedded inside the first vitrine which is the viewer’s only point to access the wildflowers.
